Party poker was originally the largest online poker site by a considerable distance. Nowadays with their exclusion of US poker players there numbers have dropped. Although there can be upwards of 60,000 players connected at peak hours. Party poker has a bonus which is easy to clear although relatively small at only 30% to $150. When it was first released Party Poker had revolutionary software which ran at fast speeds. Nowadays when compared to other sites such as PKR and Bodog Poker their software is below average in terms of graphics. Tournament tables allow players to make “deals” when the final table has been reached. This is a great feature which allows players to share out a % of the prize pool for “deals” to be made all players must agree.
Update : Party Poker updated their software in October 2008. Now the software is very sleak and has some great new features. Players now have the ability to resize tables, make “deals”, play a larger selection of games and “filter” games and tables much easier.

Traffic at Party Poker can reach 30,000 tournament players and just shy of 8,000 cash game players at peak hours. Traffic is well spread out in terms of limits being played although more players tend to stick to the lower stakes no limit holdem games. At some sites Omaha players struggle to find a large amount of active games, whilst Party Poker is by no means the most active Omaha site they still have up to 600 Omaha players connected at peak hours.

Party Poker has recently introduced the “Helkat” Tournaments they range in length from five minutes to thirty minutes the buyin for this type of tournament ranges in size from $3 to $11. After the final hand the top three finishers will win a % of the prize pool in proportion to the size of there finishing stacks.
